Dick Came to Atlanta in 1977 to follow the calling to the mininstry after a year at Melodyland School of Theology. His vision of a Christian Symphony orchestra and Choir came during one of the performances of the Messiah he was conducting in 1974. While in California he received the inspiration for the name "His" Symphony--representing the fact that it should indeed be HIS, belonging to our lord, and operated as a stewardship. For several years after arriving in Georgia, the vision laid silent, until 1988, when HIS Symphony was incorporated and received a Non-Profit status.
He is married to Martha, with three children; Lisa, Dawna and Billy. Billy is active as the engineering partner in the studio venture, Father's Heart Studios).
